- In 1959, due to the poor condition of the facilities owned by Albacete B., the mayor of the city, a professional architect, designed a selfless project to build a new stadium for the club. Upon opening, the ground took the name of its predecessor and founder, Carlos Belmonte.
- It was finally opened on September 9, 1969, during the celebration of the popular Albacete festivities.
- The Spanish national football team has played five games, two qualifiers for the European Championship, two for the World Cup and a friendly match.
- The Carlos Belmonte has seen the debuts of Andres Iniesta, Bojan Krkić and Alberto Moreno with "La Roja". Isco played his first official match with the national team in this field.
- Its capacity of 17,000 spectators makes this ground a perfect stage for concerts and major events. Bands and artists such as Maná or Sting have performed on the Carlos Belmonte in front of 20,000 fans.
