The 'Futura Afición’ (Future Fans) of Granada CF enjoyed an educational event yesterday afternoon, packed with fun and putting into practice the values of football, such as teamwork, sportsmanship, companionship, tolerance and zero tolerance to violence in any of its forms. These workshops, developed by FUNDACIÓN LALIGA, in collaboration with the host club's Foundation, were held at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes, and were attended by more than 60 kids from the Alevín (U10-11) and Benjamín  (U8-9) categories, representing the schools of the Granada CF Foundation.

The event began with a welcome from Alfredo García Amado, General Director of Granada CF, and Olga de la Fuente, Director of FUNDACIÓN LALIGA, who highlighted the importance of developing this kind of fun and informative event to educate the fans of the future from the club's grassroots, through hands-on, rewarding sessions.

Afterwards, the children completed the programme with various activities aimed at understanding the good values in football, as well as raising awareness about violence and unsporting behaviour in the game. They also took on various challenges on internalising and identifying other problematic situations, as they were able to do in the module 'Offside to Bullying at School', a session in which the kids developed a series of practical exercises that explored the nature of this problem, which is increasingly common among children and adolescents.

The day ended with a final reflection by the children, through a display of murals containing messages that each of the groups had made, as well as a prize-draw for footballs and a prize-giving ceremony.

Olga de la Fuente appreciated “the great commitment of the LALIGA clubs in joining this initiative aimed at educating and raising awareness among their youth teams and schools about such a delicate, but necessary, issue such as the eradication of violence in football and teaching them about aspects that normally fall outside the scope of formal sports training”.

Alfredo García Amado highlighted the “great opportunity that 'Futura Afición' represents, with the aim of providing a wide range of fundamental skills to educate our club's future footballers, but also to influence their growth as good people. I encourage you to take what you've learned today to your training sessions and matches, but also to your personal lives, at school and at home, and to live up to the values of this club”.

The event in Granada was the third to be carried out by the 'Futura Afición' project at LALIGA clubs this season, after the sessions at the Cívitas Metropolitano with Atlético de Madrid and the ABANCA Balaídos with RC Celta.

As in previous editions, these activities, together with those run by LALIGA clubs, are aimed at schoolchildren from 3rd to 6th grade of primary school, and are based on the use of gamification as a tool for transmitting messages, through completely revamped challenges and games, as well as interactive activities. More than 75,000 children from over 500 schools have already participated in the nine events held to date.
